Progress continued..upwards

Overview:
During previous posts ,one..two..three ..start , and the building grows..above plinth , we went through the steps from mobilizing on site till completion of the basement.
We now aim to continue our journey upwards i.e. above the plinth.

Let’s list down the activities which are to be executed the superstructure:

This includes Columns,Beams,Slabs, [ Also read post Oh no so many Beams ? ]
Lintels, Chajjah, Porch, Potico , [ Also read post Family of Chajjah ,Porch,Portico ]
Loft, Patli,
Overhead Water tanks,
Staircase
Lift well,Lift room,Lift pit

2.Masonry work:
This could be in Red clay bricks or Fly ash bricks or AAC blocks depending on the various factors.

3.Doors & Windows :

This category shall also include Ventilators ,Grills ,Railings,Sky-lets,Opening for exhaust fans etc.
4.Internal & External plaster
5.Plumbing & Sanitary work 
6.Water proofing work
7.Flooring ,Paving & cladding

Although we have made a list of the different categories of works to be executed in the building ,

but it not necessary that the execution shall also be  in the same order .

The exact sequence of individual activities shall depend on many variables such as :

1.Technical requirements:
2.Type of materials opted for 
3. Project Priorities 
5. Customers specific needs
6. Availability of materials

Let us understand this in detail now.

A.The sequence of brick masonry on exterior face of building shall be as follows:

1.Brick wall up to sill level : This shall be generally full brick wall .
2.Fixing of the steel window
3.Brick wall up to lintel level
4.Casting of the RCC lintel & chajjah
5.Remaining brick wall up to roof
6.External plaster rough coat
7.External plaster finished coat
8.Internal plaster

B.Now note down how the sequence changes the moment we take a decision of using Aluminium windows instead of steel windows:

1.Brick wall up to sill level : This shall be generally full brick wall .

C.The sequence of brick masonry on internal face of building shall be as follows:

1.Brick wall up to 3′ height .
2.Casting of band beam or Patli
3.Brick wall up to lintel level
4.Casting of the RCC lintel & Loft at 7′
5.Remaining brick wall up to roof
6.Chase cutting for electrical wiring
6.Internal plaster
7.Fixing of switch board
8.Painting

D.The sequence of work in the toilet shall be as follows:

a.By RCC contractor:
1.Casting of floor slab
2.Casting of sunk portion

Thus we have seen that there are  8 agencies who shall execute these 22 items.

Some agencies, like Plumber  , have to re-visit the same location thrice to get the work completed.
Summary:

We started our review from  Planning and covered up to Substructure in the previous post.

In the  current article we listed all activities in the superstructure.
We also saw the multistage coordination in 4 different  cases.
