Exercise :

  • TOILET SIZE 2 M X 2.5 M.
  • DOOR SIZE : 0.75 X 2.0 M.
  • DADO HEIGHT : 2.0 M.
  • FIND OUT THE FOLLOWING:
  • 1. FLOORING AREA :
  • 2. DADO AREA :

The tile size is as follows :

  • FOR FLOORING :
  • 200MM X 200 MM ?
  • FOR DADO,
  • 200MM X 300 MM ?

Now .let is solve this.

The steps are quite simple.

First , we calculate the flooring area and the dado area ,

then we shall find out the area of each tile given for flooring and dado and finally , we shall calculate the no of tiles needed.

Remember : 

While calculating the dado area , we shall have to deduct for the door area from the wall area.

Solution :

  • A.FLOOR AREA: 2.5 M X 2.0M   = 5.0 SQM
  • B.DADO AREA:
  • DADO LENGTH :
  • 2.5 +2.0+2.5 +2.0 = 9.0 M
  • LESS DOOR ( -) 0.75 M
  • NET LENGTH OF DADO: 8.25 M
  • HEIGHT OF DADO: 2.0 M
  • AREA OF DADO: 8.25 M X 2.0 = 16.50 SQM.

Now , we shall find out the no of tiles as follows :

  • FLOORING:
  • AREA OF ONE TILE: 0.20X 0.20 = 0.04 SQM.
  • FLOORING AREA : 5 SQM.
  • TILES REQUIRED: 5/0.04 = 125 NOS
  • DADO:
  • AREA OF ONE TILE: 0.20X 0.30 =0.06 SQM.
  • AREA TO BE COVERED: 16.5 SQM.
  • NO OF TILES REQUIRED:
  • 16.5/0.06 = 275 NOS
