Dear Readers ,

Good evening to all .

**We heartily welcome the newly joined followers.**

Today let us work out the quantities for a RCC basement.

Here is the full question.

**Hello dear Friends ,**

Once again , another example of RE-BAR calculations using the excel sheet.

**You shall note that only first time we need lots of time in preparing the excel sheet.**

But once the sheet is ready , **you can change any of the parameters and obtain the result within fraction of a second.**

This is the beam kept in mind while preparing this excel sheet.

The calculations goes like this :

The calculations sheet looks like this :

You shall observe that each time , I conclude with the Cost in Rs /CuM and also in Rs. /CFT.

This kind of summarizing helps us in the subsequent estimating.

Hope you liked this example.

**Exercise ;**

**There is a cylinder whose base diameter is 15 m. **

**The height of this cylinder is also 15 m.**

**We need to find out the following :**

**1.TOP AREA 2. BOTTOM AREA**

**3.PERIMETER AT THE TOP 4. SIDE SURFACE AREA**

**VOLUME OF THE CYLINDER**

**STEP 01 : LET US WRITE THE FORMULAE NEEDED :****TOP AREA = ╥ R2****BOTTOM AREA = ╥ R2****TOP PERIMETER = 2 ╥ R****SIDE SURFACE AREA =(2 ╥ R ) H****VOLUME = (╥ R2 ) H**

**WE ALREADY KNOW THE DATA :**

**DIAMETER ,D = 15 M ,****RADIUS , R = 7.5 M****HEIGHT , H = 15.0 M**

**STEP 02 : PUT THE VALUES :R = 7.5 M , H = 15.0 M****TOP AREA = ╥ R2 = 22/7 X 7.5 X 7.5 =176.785 SQM.****BOTTOM AREA :SAME AS TOP AREA****TOP PERIMETER = 2 ╥ R****= 2 X22/7 X7.5 = 47.142 M****SIDE SURFACE AREA = (2 ╥ R ) H****= 2 X 22/7 X7.5 X 15 = 707.142 SQM****VOLUME = (╥ R2 ) H****= 22/7 X 7.5 X 7.5 X 15 = 2651.785 CUM**

**SUMMARY :**

**1.TOP AREA : 176.785 SQM. **

**2. BOTTOM AREA :176.785 SQM.**

**3.PERIMETER AT THE TOP : 47.142 M**

**4. SIDE SURFACE AREA : 707.142 SQM**

**5. VOLUME OF THE CYLINDER: 2651.785 CUM**
